Oye!
Let go off the past. I think its wiser to delete often than take multiple back-ups. One, it lets u think and work beyond what u'd imagined.. no constraints to limit ur thoughts n the output is usually more productive. Two, it lets u look issue from a horizon n multiple angles. Three, backups tend to get heavy on ur head, n u try to relate anythin new to wht u hv in store.
i dont intend to say keeping backups all2gthr is bad, but dont spend a lot of time on it. You can always find somethin daty u really really want. rather make some space for free time.. ahem! :o)

I think we misconstrue the concept of deleting. I Believe deleting is more tod o with the ability to get rid of something forver, more importantly have the choice to and exercise it. I think it displays an ability to make decisions and quick ones at that too. Just as an example :Deleting recklessly probably defines someone who makes reckless decisions and maybe regrets them later. But then there are some who dont accept regret, defend their decisions stand by them. Is that pride, Integrity or downright stupidity? i dont know! I think that depends on the person or maybe the situation, probably both.

Maybe deleting also defines someones ability t let go of the past. be it an art form or some random data. its not necassarily the data itself but the memories attached to it. Say watching a movie or listening to some music. It defines a mood , a particular feeling that one would want to lock up and keep for eternity for want of feeling the same later.

In anycase this is just an opinion not a fact as such.
